Gimblett-Maple Street Loop

It's 30. It rained all day, until about 20 minutes ago, when it started to snow. The cold rain reminded me of my first marathon, in 1975 on Mount Petit Jean, when it was a bit above freezing and rained the whole morning. My tights, which men were not allowed to wear then, and rain-proof running jacket, which wasn't invented then, kept me plenty warm and dry as I ran the Gimblett and Maple Street Loops (seven miles) in 1:11:50, with splits of 10:36, 10:47, 10:00, 10:11, 9:52, 10:13, and 10:10. I ran a bit faster than planned, but it was just as easy as I had hoped; truly a snap. It pleased me that I was able to resist a temptation to push. I am not sure how much longer I could have gone at that pace. Maybe a couple of more hours?
