Levy Trail Loop

I walked the Levy Trail Loop at lunchtime today in 34:05. ...Z-Man held a beer mile at his house to honor the late Reverend Bob (who died Monday). I finished last in the field of twenty-five or so in 19:07.

QUESTION OF THE DAY. ...Why has no one yet begun to talk about how this climate-change stuff has begun to work itself out? After less than a month, just as many people have died from the summer heat in Seattle as froze to death in Houston last winter.

Burns Park Tournament Course

John, Ed, and I played the Burns Park Tournament Course. I scored 79, with nines of 42 and 37. I had 1 birdie, 7 pars, and 10 bogies. I used 30 putts. John scored 85 and Ed 94. This was my first time under 80 on a course with a par of 70 or more, and perhaps as significantly, the first time I have played a round on any course without a single score higher than bogie. My day is made.

Burns Park Tournament Course

I hoped my last three days of good golf would hold up for another with witnesses along. It did not. My excuse is that we had to play what has become in the last few years an inferior course, but it's a weak one. Ed, John, and I played the Burns Park Tournament Course this morning. I scored 92, with solid irons but a long day of mediocre wood shots and short game. I had 4 pars, 8 bogies, 4 doubles, 2 triples, and used 37 putts. Ed scored 84 and John 92.

Levy Trail South/Burns Park Championship Course

I walked Levy Trail South this morning in 32:07. ...I played 7 holes of the front nine of Burns Park Championship Course, skipping the final two par-3s to get in before dark. I finished at 3-over, with 4 pars and 3 bogies. I used 14 putts. Ed and I are scheduled to play at 7 a.m tomorrow. ...I signed up for the Peacock streaming network last night to watch U.S. Open feature groups the next four days. I didn't know before they had a free version of it. Have any of my readers watched Yellowstone? I watched the first episode of it last night and this morning. I would have to pay $4.95 a month to get the Peacock Premium, which among other things, I suppose, would allow me to watch all three seasons of it. I'll pass. Yellowstone struck me as a mere parody of old network westerns from my youth and now senior years. They should've put in a laugh track. "Them is my cattle, by god, and this here's my ranch. Them fuckers ain't gettin' my water, specially not after they went and killed my boy."

Levy Trail South/Burns Park Championship Course

I walked Levy Trail South this morning in 34:27. ...I don't know how long this will last, considering the fragility of my golf swing. For the moment, however, I'm killing it. I played the front nine of Burns Park Championship Course this evening in 42, with 4 pars, 3 bogies, and 2 doubles. I played the final five holes in 1-over.  I used 17 putts. By the way, the course is in borderline perfect shape. I can't wait for John and Ed to see it.

Levy Trail Loop/Burns Park Tournament Course

I walked the Levy Trail Loop this morning in 32:50. ...I had nice, very sweaty nine holes at Burns Park Championship Course this evening. I scored a 41, with 1 birdie, 3 pars, 3 bogies, and 2 doubles. My driver worked fantastically after nearly three months of dormancy. On the other hand, I did not putt or chip worth a good goddamn. I used 17 putts.

Hash

We had a Hash run set today in seemingly similar weather to several thousand previous runs from the same parking lot in Two Rivers Park. I was out for about forty-five minutes. ...By the way, the formerly gray former Taca Bell building in Levy is now painted white with blue trim. It will soon become the second Blue Dolphin's Fish & Chicken, an apparent chain wannabe begun on Baseline Road in Little Rock. Thus far, the original has been an immense hit, with a menu limited to chicken and sea mammals, including dolphins, porpoises, whales, seals, manatees, sea lions, and walruses.

Dickey -Stephens Park

Six other Geezers and I walked a loop through the River Market and past the Clinton Presidential Library from Dickey-Stephens Park this morning in 1:04:51. I'm not sure of this, but I think it was my first time at the Rivermarket since I ate at The Flying Fish in late spring, 2018.

Burns Park

I walked from my car in the Burns Park Golf Course parking lot to the Championship Course, which I walked around on the cart path. I was out for 1:14:18, with nine-hole splits of 32:12 and 33:06. It has rained far too hard the last week or so to allow anyone to golf.
