Go with a $10 exacta box with Nyquist (No. 13) and Whitmore (No. 10). It will cost $20. A $10 13-10 exacta should pay somewhere around $500, and a 10-13, about $1,000, or maybe a bit more.

Kentucky Derbies always draw an enthusiastic crowd to Oaklawn’s simulcasts, as did this one, but no significant central theme was apparent. Last year the Arkansas Derby winner American Pharoah was recognized as a thoroughbred superstar before the Triple Crown series began, and by year’s end had assumed the stature of an all-time great. None of this season’s Kentucky Derby entrants approached such grandeur.
