Levy Loop/Oaklawn Park

I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 31:05 and then rode with Tom to Oaklawn Park, where I lost $18. After five trips, I'm up $96.70. I made my first ever bet in a Kentucky Derby future pool, and it was twice as large as any bet I have made before. I bet $100 on Competitive Edge to win the Kentucky Derby. His current odds are 35-1, down from 47-1 when I got up this morning. Wagering in this pool runs through 6 p.m. Sunday. This is for me a very cool wager. I believe it will add a level of interest through the next three months that's worth the cost of the bet. And, heck, I might win $3,500 and be able to brag all goddamn summer.
