WILLIAMS JUNCTION, Ark.—I started, but was unwilling to finish. Instead, I walked, climbed, and jogged out for an hour, and then spent 59:49 coming back on a very hard, approximately seven-mile course. It rained all the way, and as hard as it ever rains for half an hour or so. My goal became to come back faster then I went out, and I met it only because I intersected the course of a man named Dane Justice with about a mile to go. He unwittingly helped push me.
