I walked the Orange Street Loop this morning in 47:49.
This afternoon I jogged and walked for about 30 minutes in and around Allsop Park with the Hash to cover a little over two miles.

Levy Loop/Levy intervals
I jogged the Levy Loop this morning in 21:51, with splits of 11:09 and 10:42. My legs felt fresh.
Tonight, starting at about 7:30 Central, after going to Oaklawn Park with Tom Zaloudek and leaving with an extra $196.90 in my pants, and before frying nearly perfect chicken for dad and myself, I ran 3X1000 meters, on a GoogleEarth-measured loop (north on Orange, east on 47th, south on Maple, west on 43rd, and south on Orange) that starts at my driveway and ends at the driveway next door (at John the crack-smoking handyman's former house), in 5:12.9, 5:08.3, and 5:05.1, with an 800 interval walked and jogged in seven minutes. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure these street intervals are harder than those on the track; probably longer, what with the hills, sharp turns, and running around cars and potholes. I jogged a mile warmup and walked and jogged a half mile down.

Levy Loop/Big Dam Bridge-Overlook
I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 29:33.
This afternoon, starting at about 2:30 Central, I walked an out-and-back across the Big Dam Bridge and up Overlook Drive and Circle. It took 1:06:48 (I walked out in 35 minutes and back, coming down Overlook, in 31:48) I guess I walked a little over four miles; it was a wonderfully comfortable stroll.

Ghetto Cat Loop/Orange Street Loop
I walked the Ghetto Cat Loop this morning in 30:48.
I ran the Orange Street Loop at about 4:30 p.m Central in 27:15, with splits of 9:54, 8:48, and 8:33. I tried to make it a tempo run and succeeded; I felt good. I'm registered for the Little Rock 5K, scheduled for a week from Saturday, the day before the Little Rock Marathon. My early over-under is 25:15.

Levy Loop/Orange Street Loop
I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 30:37.
I started the Orange Street Loop, at 6:20 p.m. Central, hoping to find a pace that would feel easy throughout. I did. Without looking at my watch, I jogged the loop in 32:09, with splits of 10:50, 10:41, and 10:38.

33rd Street Loop
My legs felt great when I got out of bed this morning (at something ridiculous, 5:30 I think), and through the first mile of the 33rd Street Loop. But they're not great, rather tired and depleted. I completed the run in 34:35, with splits of 11:47, 11:16, and 11:32. I might golf this afternoon, and walk this evening, but I goddamn swear, swear, I won't run again until tomorrow night, or maybe until Sunday.

Ghetto Cat Loop/Big Dam Bridge-River Trail
I walked the Ghetto Cat Loop this morning in 30:28.
I ate ribs and cheese fries for lunch at My Friend's Bar and Grill with Tim Cooper and am consequently ruined for the day. Starting at about 3 p.m. Central, I walked 66 minutes on a combination of the Big Dam Bridge and River Trail to cover a little over four miles. It's nearly perfect out; after this winter, 56-degree sunshine feels like a pile of quilts.

Levy Loop/Gimblett Loop
I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 30:07.
This evening I started the Gimblett Loop a little after six o'clock and completed it in 50:42, with splits of 10:08, 10:46, 9:52, 10:13, and 9:43. Again, it was easy, though I did hurry the third and fifth miles a bit.

Orange Street Loop/First Tee/Levy intervals
I jogged the Orange Street Loop this morning in 31:27, with splits of 10:46, 10:20, and 10:21.
This afternoon I drove out to First Tee. It was a little too cool, about 40 degrees, and windy, but mostly the course was too wet to enjoy playing as poorly as I was. I played two balls through the first four holes and had 5 bogies, 2 triples, and 1 quadruple. The only thing I did well was putt; I used 12 putts, with 5 one-putts (none shorter than five feet), 2 two-putts, and 1 three-putt (twelve putts for eight holes would work out to 27 for 18). Otherwise I stunk, except for three good drives and three slightly better-than-average pitch shots.
According to GoggleEarth, it's 400 meters along Orange Street from the northern edge of my driveway to the front porch of the T-Shirt Shop. This evening, starting at about 6:15 Central, I ran 6X400 with a 400 meter walk/jog interval. My intervals were a pretty good recovery; I jogged most the way back to my house in about three minutes and then walked in circles and took a rolling start at 3:30. I did the 400s in 1:58.8, 1:57.8, 1:54.7, 1:53.6, 1:51.6, and 1:50.7, or from a 7:55.2 to a 7:22.8 mile pace. They weren't too hard. I jogged a mile up in 11 minutes and walked a jogged a mile down in 13:30.

Ghetto Cat Loop/Levy Loop
I jogged the Ghetto Cat Loop late this morning in 21:57, with splits of 11:06 and 10:51. And, oh yeah, I almost forgot, it fucking snowed (but kind of a Rocky snow, light and sparse with no chance to stick).
For some reason my legs felt a little beat up this evening, so I aborted an attempt of the ol' Gimblett Loop and instead jogged the Levy Loop in around 21:30. I don't know. I went through a mile in 10:47 but failed to stop my watch when I finished. It's currently at roughly 54 minutes.

Levy Loop/Hash
I'm not sure what embarrasses me more: that I have allowed prominence to a two-mile-walk prediction game, or that, in light of that, I can fail at it as badly as this morning when I walked the Levy Loop in 28:51.
It snowed and rained for our Hash run at Burns Park today. I was out for 25 minutes and probably covered about two miles

Levy Loop/33rd Street Loop
I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 29:47. It snowed a little less than an inch last night, dusting cars and sidewalks, and adding to the three or four inches that remain from Sunday night/Monday morning, which might be the most enduring Arkansas snowfall of my lifetime.
This evening I recognized after about three miles of the 33rd Street Loop that I was pushing, which breaks my new code. So, I slowed to a more comfortable pace and completed the run in 48:39, with splits of 9:36, 9:33, 9:37, 9:57, and 9:56.

York Gary Loop/Levy Loop
NASHVILLE—I walked and jogged the York Gary Loop in 27:32 this morning.
My luck this afternoon did not transcend the No. 13 meal at McDonald's being on sale in Hot Springs for $3 (and only $4 had I wanted an extra Filet O'Fish); I lost $39.90 at Oaklawn Park, then returned home to walk the Levy Loop in 29:30 for a double bogey which put me at 20-over par after 18 two-mile prediction walks.* I had 2 birdies, 3 pars, 4 bogies, and 9 doubles.

Levy Loop/Old Center Point Road
It remains very white and slippery in Levy, plus it's cold; 26 degrees and windy. I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 30:14.
NASHVILLE—In the evening, staring at about 7 Central, I ran a five-mile out-and-back on Old Center Point Road from Mom's house in 51:42, with splits of 10:54, 10:54, 10:16, 9:38, and 10:00. It was easy, except that I burped purple onions and fried chicken the last couple of miles.

Walmart/35th Street Loop
Is there a technique for pushing a shopping cart through crusty slush? Levy looks like Laramie today, with six inches of snow on the ground. It's sunny, but should stay under 30. Fuck global warning; it's a big blow-job con. I walked for 35 minutes at Walmart, but might be able to go for a run late this afternoon or this evening.
This evening's run pleased me more than any of my recent, which is saying a lot; I have been on a nice roll lately. Starting at about 6 o'clock, I ran the 35th Street Loop in 38:46, with splits of 9:54, 9:39, 9:45, and 9:27. Mostly I am delighted by the ease of it. I had to run around a lot of ice and slush, and tiptoe on the hills. Maybe that helps, going so easily up and down.

Levy Loop
Man, it's snowing as hard as it ever snows in Levy. I remember a weatherman on Saturday night saying something about a chance of "winter precipitation," but I believe that was about the extent of the warning. No one mentioned it during the Super Bowl. I got up this morning and was fucking dumbfounded when I saw white outside. I measured three inches on the back of my car and weather.com says we'll get another two or three. I walked and jogged through it to cover the Levy Loop in 28:10.

Levy Loop/Park Hill Loop
I walked the Levy Loop this morning in 30:10.
Then, a couple of hours later, at about 9:15 Central, after walking around my house feeling a good coffee buzz, I went out for an impromptu jog and walk of the Park Hill Loop in 59:35, with splits of 12:25, 12:18, 11:40, 12:27, and 10:45. I jogged all of the last mile to insure a sub-hour result.
I was out for 55:10 on and off the Ouachita Trail this afternoon, beginning and ending at Bob Marston's house with the Hash; covered about four miles. Afterward I set two betting lines for the Super Bowl: I put the over-under on the National Anthem at 1:47, and made the black players 6.5-point favorites over the white players. Two bets were split on the anthem, and six bets split on the game. The anthem was sung in 1:46.72, and the blacks defeated the whites, 26-22, so the white guys covered the spread, thanks to a late touchdown by New Orleans tight end Jeremy Shockey, by 2.5 points. I'm moving to Vegas to take work as an oddsmaker.

This is the way jogging should feel; I jogged the Orange Street Loop this evening in 34:38, with splits of 11:49, 11:36, and 11:03, and every step was easy and enjoyable, like my runs last weekend without the snow and ice.

Oaklawn Park/Maple Street Loop
I thought about running the Park Hill Loop this evening, but after a mile run through 37 degrees and rain, I opted for the Maple Street Loop, and completed it in 21:22, with splits of 10:50 and 10:32.
Early this afternoon I walked for 35 minutes all over the inside of Oaklawn Park, and later walked to my car with an extra $33.50 in my pants.

Levy Loop
I walked the Levy Loop this evening in 29:39. I played seven holes at Fort Roots this afternoon, though it was too cold and windy and the course was soaked (First Tee was closed). I skipped the first four holes. I played Nos. 5-9, then 5 and 9 to finish. Let's see; I went bogie, birdie (a putt from off the green on the 90-yard Par-3 by the wall and the ghetto apartments, which would have gone off the other side by probably 10 yards, slammed into the pin and dropped in, a 1,000-1 shot), bogie, bogie, par, bogie, and par, so I was three-over, but didn't play nearly as well as that sounds. Plus, fuck, I skipped the four hardest holes.

I walked the Ghetto Cat Loop this morning in 29:15.
This afternoon, starting at about 3:20 Central, I jogged the Levy Loop in 20:33, with splits of 10:15 and 10:18. I failed to write yesterday that my legs were quite lifeless for the Hash run. They remain a little dead today, but were nevertheless remarkably comfortable through this trot.
